How We Started
Emmes was founded in 1977 with a focus on biostatistics and public sector research, establishing our foundation as a trusted scientific partner to the U.S. government — including the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Over decades of work with NIH institutes and centers, we helped shape the clinical trial standards and public health practices still used industry-wide today.
That early discipline — scientific precision, regulatory rigor, and data transparency — became the foundation for our expansion into commercial biopharma and global clinical research. The same standards that earned government sponsors' trust now guide every biopharma and biotech program we run.
