More than 45 years of experience
With a foundation built on decades of research and collaboration with leading investigators, our Cell and Gene Therapy team brings more than 45 years of invaluable expertise in conducting clinical trials to our customers.
Our innovations are unlocking real research potential to test and create life-changing treatments for patients suffering from a wide range of conditions and diseases.

The Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN)
The Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN) is one of our longest-standing research partnerships. Funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the National Cancer Institute, the Network conducts multicenter trials to improve outcomes of hematopoietic cell transplantation and other cellular therapies for patients with life-threatening blood disorders. Collaboration with biopharma sponsors helps bring promising therapeutic approaches into these studies.
Since the Network’s establishment in 2001, Emmes has partnered with NMDP and the Medical College of Wisconsin to support its Data and Coordinating Center. Emmes provides trial operations, biostatistics, and data management expertise, translating scientific priorities into well-designed studies and coordinating their execution across participating centers. Together, the partners combine scientific leadership, operational expertise, and patient engagement to advance transplantation and cellular therapy research.
The results speak to the Network’s scale: 60+ trials launched, 16,000+ patients enrolled, and 165+ manuscripts published. The Network includes 19 core centers (ten of them consortia representing 32 centers), the 50+ center Pediatric Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Consortium, and 75+ affiliate centers that contribute 15–20% of enrollment. For sponsors, this experience translates into established investigator relationships and practical expertise in coordinating multisite cell manufacturing, executing global Phase 3 trials, and supporting complex cellular therapy programs.
